| I've know about Django Reinhardt for years but I only really "heard" his music in the movie Chocolat. This is a great introduction to Mr Reinhardt and the unique approach he brought to jazz. This collection is a good way to spend your money. |

| Great atmospherics, some songs are a little "spooky". Really deserves to be listened to with headphones. The depth of the recording is wonderful.
Not really a party soundtrack.... more a personal journey in movement through sound. |

| If you have gypsy blood like me in your veins, this CD is a must for your collection.
Unfortunately Django left us in May 16, 1953. Five months later in October 31, 1953 I was born. What a shame, I never saw him play live in concert, I would probably had collected all his albums. Although this CD was a starting point for me to hear the genius of this great gypsy (Roma) jazz guitar player, I find this CD fascinating, and it brings the gypsy out me. Buy it. | What can I say? I absolutely loved the first CD. The music was classic and the performances were extremely original and virtuostic. "Night town" is neither. The music is boring and even Julien Labro - one of the centerpieces - was disappointing. It is not, however, his fault. The key difference is that the other centerpiece - the clarinet (Dave Bennett) - is conspicuosly missing. | This CD is a beautiful sonic landscape. It marries gorgeous tonal brass melodies over lovely rhythmic foundations. I enjoyed it better than Manu's first, and it bears no resemblance to his work with Peter Gabriel. It stands alone with melodious solos and are a treat from start to finish, which as a rarity these days.
