| Quite a good album, traditional to Manu Chao music, with a slight escape into mainstream.
Some songs seem like reworks or versions of the same song done in different ways. Good for listening while riding in a car. It is certainly worth listening to, but if you are not a real Manu Chao dedicated fan you might find it slighlty repetitive. As some have noticed, the two included Sven Libaek songs have not only been re-titled for the soundtrack, but they've been shortened. "Shark Attack Theme" is actually a 3:53 song called "Inner Space" from the album of the same name. "Open Sea Theme" is actually a 3:01 song called "Thatcherie," also originally found on the Inner Space album. | Fantastic songs (especially disc 2) by the amazing Francoise Hardy.
Her writing and voice are pure like snow and America only had the Kapp records subsidiary "4 Corners" to market her music. They failed miserably at getting her to our attention. They fared a bit better with Raymond LaFevre and his great cover version of Soul Coaxing (Ame Caline). This CD is a must buy as a start to introduce this interesting facet of 60's pop music that possibly influenced Marc Bolin and other Radio Caroline listeners. ... Read More: |

| heh i just got back from 10 days in cambodia...didn't get a chance to hit up any of the local music scenes but hearing this, i wish i had. anyway, this really is the yin to the second album's yang...mostly because once you're finished listening to "escape" you simply must have more of this intoxicating stuff. |

| I saw this band on TV on the World Music program. They are a latin rock band. The lead singer sounds a little like Cheech, (of Cheech and Chong.) My favorite song on the CD is "Eres" You don't have to speak spanish to like this music. |

| This an excellent Album, Most of the songs are traditional christmas carols that we all recognize, but they sound beautiful in French. These arent cheesey christmas carols either, they are contemporary, well done versions of our favorite american christmas classics. there are a few songs sung in english, "christmas is calling" for instance, a song i never heard but is really nice |

| I am so excited to see Garou has made an English CD. I have 3 of his French CD's and I could listen to them all the time. I haven't heard his English CD yet, but I am definitely purchasing it today. He is such a favorite of mine. I know his English has got to be as good as his French CD's. I hope his CD catches on in the states. He has a magnificent voice, and a terrific style, besides being very cute. Those eyes!!!! |
