| I've always had a great admiration for Emmylou Harris as an artist but I couldn't really call myself a true fan of hers, that is until the release of her 1995 album "Wrecking Ball" in which she transcends the previous limits of country music into something new altogether. I've loved every one of her albums since then, and it's been a long five years since her previous studio album "Stumble Unto Grace".

| This CD doesn't have a bad track. On top of that, the first song, Beachcombing, is great to sing along with! I like to think I do a pretty good Mark Knopfler impression, and to be able to harmonize with Emmy Lou at the same time is awesome. Buy it!

| This is a great CD for fans of Emmylou Harris. It has many favorite songs that I remember from previous CDs and also some tracks I hadn't heard before. As always, her voice delivers a true clear quality and her cover of "Love Hurts" was a genuine (and great) surprise! I would highly recommend this CD for fans of bluegrass and country rock as there are tracks that will please both audiences. |

| I love this album and for lots of reasons. The most important one, though, is that the music is more than the sum of its parts. I like Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, and Emmylou Harris, but I'm not a huge fan of any of them either. Each of them is limited in their own ways. Their voices work incredibly well together, though! Similarly, I don't think I would go out of my way to hear the collection of mostly older tunes on this album, but again, these three together remake them in ways that most artists ... Read More: |

It's a collection of duets, entirely appropriate in that that's precisely what Ms. Harris does best: sing harmony with others, many of whom would be difficult to accompany (Dylan, for one). | I loved the movie and my basset hound sang along to a few of the tunes in the movie; however she (the basset) did not respond at all to the music from the sound track, and this was a little disappointing, but I liked it a great deal. |

| 1. The music on the CD and the DVD is flat-out wonderful. Heavy, constant rotation on the in-home and in-car music systems. Can't get Romeo and Juliet out of my head. Boulder to Birmingham and Red Dirt Girl are stunning. Get a towel for If This is Goodbye (and note the commentary on this tune in the DVD interview).
2. The DVD is more problematic. Great interview segment with Knopfler and Harris. Well produced, good commentary, a cool production space that it was shot in. A mix of points of view, video and stills ... Read More: |
