| Truly an amazing Christmas album from one of the greatest musicians ever. According to the packaging, this is the first time that the 1957 and the 1971 Christmas records are on one disc.
This is kicked off perfectly with a very Elvis-esque Santa Claus is Back in Town, which sets the tone quite nicely. Here Comes Santa Claus has a nice subtlely to it, and is a cute song. | As with the first Christmas CD that I reviewed, which technically goes hand in hand with this particular Christmas CD (originally they were sold as a set), I must say that this one is just as amazing as the other one. As I said, these are the original songs by the original artists and the sounds are top notch. Burl Ives was a local son from my hometown area and many of us will remember him as "Sam the Snowman" in "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and there are many other wonderful singers on the CD from years ... | This album is very well done. Both CD's are terrific. I especially loved the way he sang the gospel songs on the 2nd CD. I am reassured that he is singing in Heaven with all of the Angels. In my book, Elvis will always be the King and these two CD's are yet another example of why. The songs are fantastically well sung and arranged exactly perfectly on the CD. Really great value for the money. |
