| This is an album I still have on vinyl and that I still love after, what is it now--35 years? Jeff Beck was the selling point for me, but I came to appreciate the tight, innovative rhythm section of Tim Bogert and Carmine Appice(both former members of Vanilla Fudge). "Lady", "Black Cat Moan", their great cover of Stevie Wonder's "Superstition", ""I'm So Proud" and my favorite here--"Sweet,Sweet Surrender" are all great reasons to own this disc. | I think this is Jeff Beck's finest recording. A notch better than its predecessor and a more comfortable fit than many of the other formats this experimental guitar hero has tried, Wired seems to fit his frantic guitar runs, his sonic bends, his unique phrasing, and his sweet-hot tone like a glove. It is doubtless due in part to the instrumental nature that this album stands above the rest. Beck doesn't have to battle a vocalist; he simply steps into the spotlight and wails.
