| For my money, this recording presents Jeff Beck at his best and represents an extension of the work he did with the Yardbirds, except that it's even tougher sounding thanks to the contributions of the other band members: Rod Stewart's wonderfully raspy vocals always draw praise, but the pile-driving drumming of Tony Newman also deserves notice, and the value of Ron Wood's energetic bass playing can't be over-estimated (he should have stuck with the bass). | Think about it-Jeff Beck in his prime, ripping off some of his best licks with incredible tone backed up by Tim Bogert on Bass and Carmine Appice on Drums from Vanilla Fudge. The rhythm section is still tight coming off 3 years of playing with Cactus. Beck is great on tunes like "Black Cat Moan" and a great version of "Superstition". Forget the vocals (they're pretty bad) and imagine Rod Stewart singing these songs (what should have happened). This album is worth getting just for Jeff Beck's guitar work. ... Read More: |

| The two previous "25th anniversary celebrations" from Varèse Sarabande are a must in any music library, not to mention if one likes cinema music (the real contemporary symphonic music, in my opinion). I was a little reluctant about this one at first, as it covers a very short time span (only five years), and many of the movies are unheard of...at least for me (I do confess I have disappointedly abandoned Western cinema for Far East one for quite some time now). | I was trasnfixed by some of the music in this movie. I was happily surprised to see this soundtrack was available. I play this often at home. It is restful music. Highly recommended for those of you who loved the music from this movie as I did. |

| Our church choir sang a few of these songs which I loved, so I decided to order it. It is a very sweet, gentle, inspiring collection of music. Many times when you get a CD, you are fortunate to find 2-4 on there that you really like enough to play regularly. But on this one, every song is wonderful.
