| I will be honest, this is the first Beck CD I have ever purchased. In the past I would here a track and say to myself, "wow that is so cool". It seemed like a post-modern mish mash, very unique---at first. In reality it was like Doritos...delicious at first, but not sustaining. I am glad there were all those previous recordings, playing with strange musicality (kind of ultra-white boy chic)and wacky lyricism because it leads to this release. | This is still one of my favourite Beck singles it's just an amazing song. Taken from the album Mutations, it features two B-sides Halo of gold (a Skip Spence cover) and Black Balloon an instrumental track. A perfect single from a perfect album. Great cover art too! |

| I found this CD at the used CD shop labelled "Mildred Pierce Free Disc For Midnite Vultures." While I don't really know what that means, I am glad to get a disc with the exact same songs listed here. "Salt in The Wound" is a great single, with some funky guitar and cool lyrics. This is definitely one of my favorite non-album Beck songs, maybe top 5. "This is my Crew" is completely groovy and way out there, but in a great dance-pop-funk way. | Ok, so after just receiving my long awaited copy of "Blow by Blow", Digitally Remastered, Reissued and Remixed by George Martin my vote is final. This is `one' of the all-time best guitar master works ever. "Scatterbrain", "Cause We've Ended As Lovers", "Freeway Jam" and of course "Diamond Dust" being the highlights. The other trac's are also very worthy grooves on this CD. The playback on a pro rig is incredible but it also sounds great on my iPod ripped in high-res. :-) Listen to the complete work. |
