| The music is grand, elaborate and highly original. However this performance with Alberto Martini conducting is mediocre and does not do it justice. Buy the recording with Reinhard Goebel and Musica Antiqua Cologne if you can get it. |

| I have bought and listened to alot of these 18th century symphonies. I am not a musical expert, so I just go by what I like and what sounds good.
I like classical symphonies to be short, happy and somewhat fluffy. I actually prefer this type of music to much of Mozart's symphonies because his are too heavy and long winded for when you want 'classical'. | Mahler had a stormy heart and at the same time the subtlest musical intelligence. No one can do justice to the Third Sym. who doesn't understand both. (Szell and Boulez are one-sided in their analytic approach, Solti is one-sided in his turbulence.) I didn't expect Semyon Bychkov to have the musical depth to encompass this enormously difficult work, but he turns out to be a natural. | Bock-Ola is the second album by the legendary Jeff Beck Group. There were a couple lineups later in Jeff Becks carear but none of them were nearly as good as the original. On the bands first album Truth we were introduced to the legendary Rod Stewart and Ron Wood, both of which went on to be very sucessful. The bands first album was a land mark in rock and blues music. | Jeff Beck's Truth (1968) is a critically acclaimed and influential piece of work that features some great performances and historically rocks the blues. There are some great moments on this album, that's for sure.
It also frustratingly lacks direction and purpose as a whole album. Truth is all over the place and there's not a lot of cohesiveness, and no concept.
