| This is a terrific collection of Christmas music with the twist of a brass ensemble. I have used it to mix up a collection, and it really adds variety to the mix. Very well done. |

| I'm completely in love with this album, both the performances and the music itself. I know there is a diversity of opinion about a group like Anonymous 4 performing music like this, and I can understand why. They don't do a typical "period" performance of the works, which usually comes out as dry as a stick and about as interesting (and yet still inaccurate somehow). | I totally respect YoYo Ma but this CD was a little disappointing because all the tunes were more like jaz and improv than nice tight blue grass and Appalachian fiddle tunes. One reel was nice but they all had a slow dirge quality that disappointed me. |

| There's not much more I can add to the glowing reviews of this CD except to say that I'm surprised that "A un nino llorando" doesn't get a mention! It became my favorite on the album, even though the rest are excellent also.
"A Christmas Carol" is quite serene and nice, as well as "A Virgin Unspotted". Perfect! These guys are the musical male answer to Anonymous 4. |

| I admit it: this is less a review and more of a compulsion to weigh in on the debate, as both a performer of early music and a longtime shapenote singer.
First of all, this is Anonymous 4, and these women are much to polished and professional to do anything less than magnificent. | The Dale Warland Singers "Harvest Home" is incredible. It truly brings in the essence of our American harvest. The intonation is nearly flawless, and the many details in each song make for a truly incredible CD. I haven't taken it out of my CD player since I made the purchase.
Barnett's "McKay" is one song in particular that I listen to repeatedly. Set to a poem well known throughout America, you can definitely hear the "rivers of delight" streaming through the piece. I recommend this CD to anyone who enjoys ... Read More: |

The incomparable sound of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir with all the religious classics. | I have 13 of their CD's . This one is the best . Four exquisite voices , painstaking research , facinating liner notes , all of their music has this in common . What sets this apart is the clairity of the recording . Each of these ladies have amazing voices that come alive with a good set of speakers . All of the reverberations and harmonics are there , and in phase . Turn it up and listen to the crispness of each voice on every note . This is one of my favorite CD's of all time . |

| I bought this CD as a replacement for the old vinyl recording I got years ago. This is one of my favorite Christmas albums. If you like John Rutter and his choral Christmas works, then you will want to own this CD. There are newer recordings since this was originally recorded (and I have them, too), but this was one of the first ones that I heard and it has sentimental value. And, once again, Amazon's price is the best. |
