| This is an excellent CD to introduce yourself to Segovia or to have a nice collection of many of his better works. The Guitar is well recorded given the era in which it was recorded.

| This two disc CD contains much great peaceful music some of which you may had heard before. It is well worth adding to anyones classical music collection. Play this at the end of a hectic day and appreciate how music really can help calm you down.

| I didn't realize what I was getting into when I tried out this collection of Segovia. I wanted to learn about the man and his music, and, WOW, what a bargain this collection turned out to be!
From Solos to Concertina's, there is so much music here that it will take me months to digest it all. I am very impressed with the quality of the mastering, Deutsch Grammophon did a wonderfull job at preserving the soundstage of the recordings, as well as the fidelity. Amazing clarity! | Segovia recorded many pieces several times in his career -- those of Bach especially -- and the anthologist is presented with a thorny problem: to go for performance or recording quality, or a balance of both? By and large the choice here is happy (especially since the artist's earlier Bach recordings are available, on the EMI anthology), and John Duarte's transcription of the 3rd 'Cello Suite was recorded only once.

| Most people who like hearing classical guitar, but who do not play or are rank amateurs, prefer a classical guitar album where the guitar sounds like it could be playing in the room. Technology since the 60's has made that possible for the classical guitar.
