| I loved the movie and my basset hound sang along to a few of the tunes in the movie; however she (the basset) did not respond at all to the music from the sound track, and this was a little disappointing, but I liked it a great deal. |

| I love Allison! I can listen to her anywhere, anytime and I always just love her music and her voice. She's never made a bad album and this is no exception, it's fantastic. I might start thinking this is my favorite, but when I think of all the great songs on the albums, I realize it's just one more great album full of great songs. I love you Allison! |

| I just got this and can't stop watching the "bonus" DVD. I thought it might have 2 or 3 songs - NO - This is a whole concert on DVD. As everyone else has pointed out, Allison's voice is just a pure gift in it's clarity and phrasing. The delivery of two songs in particular make me want to say this is my favorite music video ever. | Alison continues to drift accross genres with "The Duel," her fourth album. This album is more like Miss Fortune than like either of her first two albums, but it is definitely a style its own. It is kind of a mix of blues and 90s alternative chick-music. There's not too much uptempo stuff on here, and there's not much upbeat stuff either. | The Hardest Part is an excellent sophmore album from Alison Moorer. She is a very talented musician [singer and writer] and it's just weird she never made it bigger with the quality of this album and her first, Alabama Song. Alison remains in the country genre on this album. Her later albums migrated to different sounds, but this one definitely belonged on country charts, if radio had given it more respect. | It's surprising this lady isn't better known. Possibly, after this album, she just decided to "do her own thing". Whatever, this disc is excellent. It will be pleasing to fans of modern country while sounding traditional enough to satisfy fans of that genre too. Allison's voice is truly memorable, with a wonderful Southern sound to it. All the songs have real emotion to them. The uptempo tunes are energetic and will have the listener tapping along with the foot. Good guitar work. Definitely a worth inclusion in any collection. |

| That is, if you like your music to match your weather. Moorer has a right to sing the blues, as they say, and she's good at it. She has a strong, lovely alto that, save for the Southern accent, would have served her just as well at Motown as in Nashville. She sings with much feeling, without exaggeration. Her voice resonates especially well in her lower register, which these songs cater to. The music varies from country pop to soul to rock (see below for a little more detail on that). | ....have been all over the place. And, I suppose that's to be expected...Allison has landed in the nether land where country, pop, and rock overlap. Some like that; some don't...I liked it just fine....
We have here an album about the good and bad of relationships, and just plain survival...she has "Work to Do" and she's "Getting Somewhere"...all in great form.
