The Weekly Standard is where the advocates of militarism and corporatism share the thoughts cobbled together by various industry lawyers, think tanks, and PR agents PR! - A Social History of Spin.
It is regularly promoted through other avenues of right-wing cultism, like the Limbaugh show and all the little Limbaughs Echo Chamber: Rush Limbaugh and the Conservative Media Establishment.
Like any propaganda, it should be monitored to see how the spin doctors of the right-wing establishment ... Read More:

If you're a political junkie, probably more left leaning, then the weekly edition of Washington Post hits the spot. This edition includes indepth reports, articles, and their opinion columns for the past 7-10 days of each issue. After living in Washington, D.C. for four years, I got spoiled with the every day and behind the scenes reporting conducted by the Washington Post. This weekly edition is second only to the daily editions. I think it's a better choice than buying the Sunday edition available ... Read More:

I've been getting Entertainment Weekly for about 10 years, and I've pretty much liked it the entire time. For a while, they had a problem with spoiling plots, but that seems to have been addressed. This magazine keeps me informed about the pop culture that I don't have enough time to experience first hand.

I bought a subscription through a fund-raiser. I've been pleased with the variety of subjects, but the articles are very long and dull. I think my favorite piece was a cartoon about the New Hampshire primary. It was in my first issue, and I have not seen anything even remotely creative since. I plan to let my subscription lapse.

This magazine tries to be a sexier version of Foreign Affairs but instead comes across as her dumber, louder, and more ideological sister.

Largely reporting on the foreign policy opinions, positions, and prejudices of the American center-left, this is not the place to see balanced and deep treatment of complicated foreign policy matters. Instead you find it filled with sound bite facts, huge two page spreads of unimportant statistics and surveys, and a few short works that give you serious foreign policy ... Read More:

I subscribe to Paris Match through Amazon.com because it's a fast and reliable way to do it. The subscription is expensive, but I find it's worth it. It helps me keep my French current, something reading books and academic material does not do. It also gives me another viewpoint on world events. Some of the stories are extraordinary, even though lots of the material is on a par with "People" magazine.. but that can be fun, too.

The New Republic is one of the oldest political opinion magazines in the United States. Last year, along with new ownership, the editors changed the format of the magazine from weekly to bi-weekly, increasing the page count, changing the font, and switching to glossy cover stock.

While always a magazine of the left, the New Republic has had a history of centrism and occasional flirtations with the right. The storied editorship of Michael Kinsley in the 80's is considered by many to be the magazines high point.

I have been a subscriber to The Progressive for nearly 4 years now; it is an excellent read for those on the left of the political spectrum. The Progressive is unapologetic in its support for truly Liberal (i.e. Progressive) Politics, pulls no punches when evaluating the Bush Dictatorship that we have been living under for nearly 8 years now. It does an excellent job of holding so-called (self-proclaimed) liberal politicians feet to the fire. Also does a nice job of highlighting certain states and cities that have truly progressive/liberal ... Read More:

The Wilson Quarterly is probably my favorite publication. Few others are as fascinating; its diversity and intellectualism make most other magazines pale in comparison. Simply extraordinary.

Like most conservatives, I do not always agree with everything I come across in the American Conservative, but I generally find at least four or five articles to be pretty valuable. Basically, I love just about anything that Steve Sailer writes and he's the film critic there. Sailer also contributes full length articles as well. Jim Antle is also another one of my favorite writers, and, although he has moved on to The American Spectator, he remains a regular contributor. John Derbyshire is mostly found at NR but when his articles appear here they substantially elevate the ... Read More:
