Spider Magazine is a dream come true for the young gifted reader. The magazine is pitched for children ages six to nine. Strong independent readers may be ready for it earlier. Sample issues run to 33 pages, plus each has an additional pullout paper craft. There is a lot of writing packed into this little mag and the very youngest subscribers might prefer to have Mom, Dad, or big sister share the joy.

Issues of Spider have a fairly predictable pattern. This is a positive for most ... Read More:

I really love Vogue Knitting. I've got every issue since 1983. However, I no longer subscribe because their service is so bad. Issues don't show up, and heaven forbid you ever move!
It costs more to buy on the stand, but in the end much more satisfying. Or better yet, eBay!

I think this magazine is among the best of the entertainment genre. But I do agree with others who say it has a great deal of filler. I must admit when the magazine comes each week I quickly turn to the reviews and I think their reviews are excellent. I devour the new movies, television, dvd, music and book reviews and they help me plan what to see, watch and read. Very helpful. But I pay for the whole subscription for this small amount of the magazine. It is valuable to me though so I buy it.

I've been buying MORE at the newstands for years. This magazine is geared specifically for women over 40. It's not easy to find, so I decided to subscribe. Each issue has lengthy articles that are worth reading. It does a balanced job of covering health issues. Features on clothes, make-up, an over-40 actress, a female chef and her recipes are always included. My only complaint is that the cost of the clothes featured always adds up to more than $1000 per outfit. That's well beyond my clothing budget.

OUTDOOR LIFE is one of the original magazines devoted to hunting, fishing, conservation, hiking, boating, target shooting, as well as the latest gear and equipment. It dates back decades to the time when Jack O'Connor's books and articles about shooting and hunting demonstrated the need for a publication devoted to those who enjoyed the great outdoors.

Magazines of this genre are a now readily available and the market is quite competitive. OUTDOOR LIFE, however, remains fresh and interesting. Its approach is ... Read More:

I love watching Paula Deen and have most of her cookbooks. I subscribed to her magazine last year and while I did enjoy it, I will not subscribe again. I have a rule of thumb. I try not pay over $12 for a one year(meaning 10- 12 issues)subscription. Paula's magazine although nice is too much money for what you get and that is 6 issues a year for nearly $20. The magazine seems to be an extension to me of Southern Lady Magazine. There are recipes but I wish there were more and I wish there were 10-12 issues at a better price. ... Read More:

I got a subscription for my neice's 4th birthday (she started reading early) and she reads it voraciously from cover to cover once its in the mail. She really likes it. Personally, I could do without the games that sends subliminal messages that the princess has to get to the prince to win and would rather they focus more on characters like Belle and Mulan, rather than Cinderella-types. Sorry, but in reality when you wish upon a star, you'll still get beat by people who didn't and instead worked hard to achieve their "wishes." ... Read More:
