Great magazine for teens! It's got a lot of good advise on what make-up to buy. Also, it has great healthy recipes, easy for teens to make. My daughter made a great veggie wrap. It was delicious.

I ordered this for my 16 year old daughter, assuming she would love it since she likes all the teen magazines (Seventeen, CosmoGirl, M, etc.). She hates it. Glanced through the first couple of issues, but now tosses it directly in the trash. I'm glad I bought it when there was a promotion that paid me to take it ($7 for the magazine, $10 toward a future purchase for buying it), because it would have been a complete waste of money.

I bought this for dirt cheap, maybe $5-8 for the year. My daughter loves getting this each month and often asks if her current issue's arrived yet. I didn't give the full amount of stars because I'm not crazy about some of the articles and I don't like the ads selling to my child. That aside, there are some useful and entertaining things in there, too. I bought it for a 14 year old though now that I've looked at it I think it may be more appropriate for around 16.

I had a subscription a number of times, and found it almost comparable to "Seventeen," or "YM." While I find the gossip sections in any of these publications, J-14, offers a little less of it. Their articles are of good length. Unlike "BOP," "Teen Machine," and "Pop Star," "J-14," is in full color, and every other page isn't a pin-up, or poster.
One con is the choice to include Eminem, Dainty Kaine, and some others I feel aren't best for young teens. Paris Hilton is one such individual. We are ... Read More:

What really makes DG a one-of-a-kind magazine is that over half of its content is written by the readers themselves. Each month the magazine travels to a new state and finds twelve girls that according to Catherine "...stand out as role models, girls with something interesting to say, girls who simply have that special spark...and we also try to get a diverse group in terms of size, ethnic background, and looks, so all girls will feel like they see girls just like themselves on our pages." Those girls ... Read More:

I remember reading 'Teen Beat' and 'Tiger Beat' when I was younger. I figured why not let my daughter subscribe and this way save money over purchasing it in the stores each issue. It's fun for her to have to carry to school and read during lunch and other free-time moments. First issue arrived within one day of the seller's estimate....very good! A+ transaction! Many thanks!

Why do these magazines sell so well? They have dreamy pop stars on posters, and gossip, passing off as facts. This publication does just that.
They may have one or two feature stories.
Music artist are a huge draw, though few things are ever said about them. Instead comes a repeat of their favorites, and dislikes. I have a ton of these publication. Each has their own little quirks, making them more appealing to certain individuals.
Things have changed since the earlier teen magazines which consisted ... Read More:

Brio magazine is a christian girl's magazine for about 13-16 year olds, although it could be for as young as 8 or 9. Brio and Beyond is just the 'graduated' version, for 16-22 year olds. Being in the "brio" age group, I would highly reccomend Brio. It's the only magazine I am subscribed too, and I read it front to back the day it arrives in the mail. I really couldn't see a magazine more suitable for teen girls. It is perfect, and has a lot of fun suggestions to do with friends and siblings or yourself. one of my favorites ... Read More:
