I used to subscribe to this magazine back in the internet heyday around the turn of the millennium. It was great, really different but more important, really RELEVANT. I saw this great offer for $1/issue and figured what the heck I'll try it again. This magazine is nowhere near what it used to be, and it's just chock full of glossy, irrelevant ads. They even include other magazine clips and advertising inserts inside the plastic wrap it comes with. It reminds me of my wife's Glamour magazine ... Read More:

Scientific American is a monthly magazine written to anyone comfortable with the scientific lingo on any of a wide range of research subjects. It shows what's going on at the forefront of science breakthroughs and what they could mean in the marketplace when completed. It offers a periscope view of these topics written by the people doing the research, in as clear and communicative a way as can be. Every issue boggles the mind, is actually an understatement.

what really needs to be said . i think anyone who would dissent from that statement is either in denial and/or heartbroken about the fall of us all . who isn't . perhaps through the worlds finest photography alone we can grasp the scope of our illness as a species ? not a bad read either . sad , but true . often uplifting as well . always deeply informative . agenda ? ABSOLUTELY .

I've been subscribing to SciAm Mind for about a year now and have been reading it at the bookstore for a couple of years. I'm a layperson, no medical training or professional background in dealing with these topics, I just have a personal interest.

While I enjoy a good bit of the magazine, I typically find myself frustrated at how it seems as though they only have a few people submitting articles. Unfortunately I don't have a copy on hand, but there's one guy (?) with a name that's about a mile long, ... Read More:

How many tech and/or hard science magazines even pretend to present the "big picture"? Humans are developing tech at a furious rate, and WIRED helps me ponder tech's implications/impact ...
