As an aspiring science fiction short story writer, I have been avidly reading Fantasy and Science Fiction, Asimov's and Analog. I like these magazines immensely. Fantasy and Science Fiction is simply excellent. I enjoy the writing and recommend it highly for all fantasy and science fiction fans. As I work long hours and want to spend quality time with my family (I have a wife, two young boys, an old dog, a puppy, two frogs, and a big goldfish), I now opt for reading a short story before bedtime ... Where do I begin? This magazine has it all for fans of Sci-fi, the only periodical which can rival it is Asimov's. But, if you're like me, you like a combination of real science as well as the fiction, and Analog excels at bringing both to the reader. I always feel a sense of anticipation when opening up a new issue of Analog, it's just so consistently good. If you've never tried Analog before, and love Sci-fi, I'd say get a copy today, or better yet, subscribe, you won't be sorry.

I like Asimov better than ANALOG, but that's kind of like saying that I like strawberry better than chocolate or vanilla. It's a matter of personel tastes. I especially like the new book section. I've ordered one book from it already.

Amazon.com has always offered products at a decent price (or better). Why, then, are they tripling the cost of this magazine subscription?

This is my new favorite SF mag. On one hand, it has the best of new voices from around the English-speaking world (Canada, UK, Australia, USA), so you get a lot of different takes on the genre. On the other hand, "Neo-Opsis" isn't produced by some corporate publishing entity. It's just two people, a husband and wife team. She does all the artwork, which is professional quality, and he writes articles and very quirky editorials. It's a small press science fiction magazine.

This is not a great academic title; I think it used to be one publishing Jameson, Suvin etc. in those glorious days (70`s). Nowadays it is an anti-theory American studies journal best fit for casual reading instead of rigorous study of S-F. It is fun but not necessarily a tool for understanding the subject.
