| This is a great magazine. I am a beginner runner and it is really good to know all this info. But the price on amazon.com is more than double the real price of the magazine. Go to the magazines website and get a year for $12 like I did!

| I bought this magazine for my hiking husband. He had the dream to hike most of the Appalchian Trail before age 70. This magazine went to work in his brief case, and was quickly missed when our daughter picked it up to read in her room. He had an interest in most of the articles. It was well worth the purchase price. |

I've read Outside for several years now, and it's become just another glorified catalog to sell stuff with shallow writing: e.g. best Tequilas in Mexico, etc, etc. I used to enjoy this magazine when it contained incisive writing from John Krakauer and others, and it was about the outdoors. | After reading the various reviews I was still uncertain so I bought a copy at the local bookstore to try it out. I am a 51 year old woman who rides my bike around the neighborhood and in parks and aspires to be a commuter. For me it was extremely helpful as far as exercise, nutrition and other such guidance. Much of the technical stuff was over my head, but did contribute to my knowledge base. I have decided it is worth the $20 a year for someone like me. |

| As I've enjoyed living-off-the-land kinds of stuff since I was a teenager, this magazine was an amazing find in my early 20s only to find out my mother had been reading it for years! Their articles are interesting, inspiring, and encouraging. I think a lot of their ideas are very do-able, although some are difficult if you don't have the land. | What a load - my subscription ran out and I get a notice from a collection agency threatening me if I didn't pay them for a subscription I didn't renew. This a month after my previous subscription expired. Werner publishing, also the publishers of Digital Photo Pro, PC photo and numerous other useless golf and video rags, seem to think this is the way to build customers.
