I had ordered a 2-year subscription to House & Garden. About 10 months in, the publisher replaced H&G with Domino. I tried Domino for 6 months before I called to ask for a refund. This magazine is terrible. Each month showcases multiple rooms, homes, before and after makeovers, etc., all from the homes of various Domino editors. They don't even put forth the energy to give you ideas from outside their own staff. How lazy are they?

Here's a magazine that speaks to the inner tinkerer. In spite of its title, it's not about things that are ready-made but about a willingness to make stuff. The spirit behind it is good and refreshing.
Unfortunately, the performance doesn't match the spirit. The projects are hokey and many of the ideas are embarrassingly banal. There's also not much in the way of instruction in basic skills.
So if you don't mind a low good idea/page ratio, by all means subscribe-maybe they'll grow into it.

This is a great magazine for someone who wants to know more in detail about specific topics in gardening. As a chairperson for a homeowners association I always want to learn more. Very informative without being too wordy. Lots of nice pictures.

This is the gardening magazine I reach for first. Call me shallow, but I like pictures that get my heart racing, send my mind looking for things I can do in my own garden, and make me see things in a different way. For the "how to" I might turn to other sources, but this is the one that gets me going the minute I see the gorgeous cover.

I was very excited to subscribe to this magazine. I thought, "wow a magazine for a novice like myself". Yet I found it boring and not very helpful. I can find the same information on the web by using a search engine.

I've been a subscriber for a few years, and always eagerly devour the issue from cover to cover. It sends me back to England every other month, and for the hour or two that it takes me to read it, I couldn't be happier. Sometimes I find wonderful gardening information that applies to my small, urban CA garden, but the beautifully written articles and glorious color photographs would keep me enthralled anyway. Don't be put off by the review posted that said there was no way to reach anyone about a missing subscription. First, given that it is only ... Read More:
