| I am a fan of the magazine and think it's one of the best news/current affairs publications out there.
However... my wife and I received a subscription as a wedding gift. It took a more than 4 months to finally get activated. | FYI- This is a Brittish rag that is generally superficial in it's take on the music scene. They give brief reviews of numerous new and re-issue CDs like most, but they are highly comercial in their tone and there are more ads than not. They are obsessed with the retrospectoscope, that is they have a fetish with classic British bands (and some american artists). The CDs are a mixed bag: from mostly interesting to worthless drivel. | I too recently subscribed to BBC History Magazine through Amazon and had no problems. It's a colorful magazine full of interesting and lively articles and stimulating ideas. Indirectly, I also see BBC History Magazine as a kind of travel magazine. There are lots of historical places I want to check out after reading a few issues. Highly recommended! |

| I stumbled upon this Tome a while back and was very taken with it. Not only are the layouts fabulous but the writers add just a touch of humour to the articles. One of the things I have drawn from the issues is their use of color. I have been able to really track my own preferences from the photos and add them to my storyboard inspiration. | LOVE the show and the magazine, but it's too expensive. Six issues for $40? Yeah, the hardcore fans would pay that, but I think they'd get more subscriptions if they lowered the price. And if or when they do, I will gladly renew my subscription :) |

| The other reviews are old posts, but I received a subscription to Modern Painters about 6 months ago as a birthday present and I have yet to be disappointed. It has excellent coverage of stories from all over the art world. The images and articles are really interesting. I really love the interviews with high profile artists, reviews of exhibitions, and art book coverage. Last month I even got my friend a subscription as a gift. It is definitely one of the best art magazines. |
