"Foreign Affairs" presents a gold mine of articles about subjects that span the globe, printed in somewhat large type and easy on the eyes. It is published by the Council on Foreign Affairs, an independent national membership organization and nonpartisan center for scholars. In their words, "We hold that while keeping clear of mere vagaries, 'Foreign Affairs' can do more to inform American public opinion by a broad hospitality to divergent ideas than it can by identifying itself with one school." ... This magazine tries to be a sexier version of Foreign Affairs but instead comes across as her dumber, louder, and more ideological sister.

Largely reporting on the foreign policy opinions, positions, and prejudices of the American center-left, this is not the place to see balanced and deep treatment of complicated foreign policy matters. Instead you find it filled with sound bite facts, huge two page spreads of unimportant statistics and surveys, and a few short works that give you serious foreign ... Read More:

I have been a subscriber to The Progressive for nearly 4 years now; it is an excellent read for those on the left of the political spectrum. The Progressive is unapologetic in its support for truly Liberal (i.e. Progressive) Politics, pulls no punches when evaluating the Bush Dictatorship that we have been living under for nearly 8 years now. It does an excellent job of holding so-called (self-proclaimed) liberal politicians feet to the fire. Also does a nice job of highlighting certain states and cities that ... Read More:

Americas is an outstanding educational & intellectual magazine. It covers a variety of cultural topics related to the Americas (North, Central and Latin
America) in an interesting form. It's also an excellent source for the AP Spanish Language class.

Like most conservatives, I do not always agree with everything I come across in the American Conservative, but I generally find at least four or five articles to be pretty valuable. Basically, I love just about anything that Steve Sailer writes and he's the film critic there. Sailer also contributes full length articles as well. Jim Antle is also another one of my favorite writers, and, although he has moved on to The American Spectator, he remains a regular contributor. John Derbyshire is mostly found at NR but when his articles ... Read More:

This journal got off to a great start in the summer of 2001 with its inaugural issue that included an article by Natan Sharansky called "From Helsinki to Oslo." In issue #4, at the start of 2003, it saw that American troops would roll into Baghdad, but that it would be very difficult to "win the peace." We'd been successful in doing just that in Germany in 1945, but this journal pointed out that doing it in Iraq would be extraordinarily difficult. And the journal has discussed many of the problems with the UN.
