| This is overall a nice set of knives, good weight and they don't bend too much. The price is the selling point here, Henckels International means "made in China or Taiwan" not Germany but overall it is a nice set. If you are the person who wants the German name this is not for you but if you want a knife that is sharp and ready to use every day, give them a try. |

| This is NOT the 4-inch paring knife that is recommended by ATK, this is the 3-1/2-inch version. I haven't seen the 4-inch available at Amazon, but it is available elsewhere. |

| I've tried for many years, but have never been able to sharpen a knife with a stone. Decided I'd give a mechanical sharpener a shot as my kitchen and sporting knives were dull as a hammer. Ordered up the Chef's Choice 120 as I'd read some good things about it. First unit recieved had a defect, but was promptly replaced. Got the replacement and have to say I couldn't be happier. | I love these knives however I just wanted to point out to anyone else who is thinking of buying these that the set I got a few days ago (Nov 2008) had the stainless steel steak knives without the black coated handle. (This was not a packing mistake either, the product's box clearly says and pictures non-coated steak knives.) The larger knives are all exactly as shown. The knives are still awesome and work great, I'm just a little disappointed that the set doesn't match as perfectly as pictured in the item description. |

| I have owned knives with riveted handles for as far back as I can remember. While they are fine for Chefs Knives and Utility Knives, I have never liked their bulky feel for paring knives. After using some "As Seen On TV" knife with a similar ergonomic handle I was hooked on the feel and decided to purchase some new paring knives.
My only complaint would have to that the edge, right out of box, felt a little rough. They cut well enough, but on tougher foods I felt it was grabbing a bit too much. Five minutes ... Read More: |

The only reason I decided on this one was because a) I have been happy with Hamilton Beach in the past and b) because it was the most expensive one Zeller's had (figured if I am not going to be replacing it for another 10 years go with the best of the bunch....keeping in mind that it was only $40). | Chicago cutlery walnut traditions are the best kitchen knives going. And at a fair price. I prefer them even over the more expensive german knives. You do need to oil the handles every so often though and don't put them in the dishwasher. |
