i have used the cutting board now for about a month and am impressed with how nice it is to have 'grippers' on the bottom. the board does not wander on the counter and both the board and counter are easier to keep clean. at first i used it only for buttering toast and as a hot board as it is very attractive but i have now diced and sliced on it so it will [hopefully] have a long and useful life. very nice product. **** 4 stars |

| I have a pint glass I bought on vacation which got chipped somehow. I bought this file and wore the sharp chipped edges of the glass down, and though there's a small dip around the glass's rim from filing, the glass is smooth and usable. Much better than having to throw it away! I recommend this item. |

| We got these knives as a bridal shower gift in 2002 for our wedding from my great-aunt. We got the 8 piece set in the brown wooden box. True the box is not the greatest, but it doesn't really matter because the knives are what matter. The only reason tbe box matters is if you are giving the item as a gift, then of course you would want it to look ok (which ours did) but it doesn't have to hold up to much wear and tear. | I received the sharpener in about 4 days with ground shipping.
I immediately tried it on my Henkels, it made it so sharp, I was able to cut thin slices, horizontally, of paper with it. Then I started with my cheap knives, which were pretty dull, using the groved side and then the smooth side. The result was a set of pretty sharp , slicer, bread knife, utility, and paring knives. |

| This is overall a nice set of knives, good weight and they don't bend too much. The price is the selling point here, Henckels International means "made in China or Taiwan" not Germany but overall it is a nice set. If you are the person who wants the German name this is not for you but if you want a knife that is sharp and ready to use every day, give them a try. |
