| I thought this would really be too small for most paring, etc., but it
isn't, and I find that I use it a lot. These Victorinox knives arrive sharp, and they stay sharp. The handles are nice, too, very slip-resistant. Good buy! |

| I've been using a butcher knife to cut meat. Then I wanted a better knife set. A cooking magazine recommended Forschner and I'm so happy with this Santoku! It cuts everything like butter! This knife has cut down my chopping time in the kitchen in half! (no pun intended). It's also much cheaper than the Henckels knives I was thinking about purchasing too! |

| This is my first set of "real" knives, and they are great! Very comfortable to grip and use, and they are super sharp. When they first arrived, my roommate ran his thumb over the edge of the chef's knife and expressed skepticism about its sharpness. So he picked up a piece of paper and sliced at it. The cut was quick and smooth. He was impressed. My experience cutting tomatoes--often a good test--has been the same.

| I bought this knife to replace a much-loved bread knife whose wooden handle had gotten dried and cracked. Wow! I hadn't realized how dull my old knife was until I used this one the first time. The bandaid on my finger attests to the keenness of the edge: on the very first draw through my morning bagel, it sliced as much as my old knife would have done in 3 draws, and reminded me that there is a correct slicing technique.

| I've been wanting a large granton slicer for quite awhile...but never could quite see paying the cost of a forged blade.
This is a terrific knife, and an excellent value. It arrived sharp, and a quick honing keeps it that way. My slicing is better than ever. |

| For about $10 you can have three great knives, one of which was rated by America's Test Kitchen as best paring knife hands down regardless of price. I use really just the paring knife as it is easy to use in many small tasks and is light and flexible. at around $4-5 a piece separately you are basically getting a free knife with purchase of two.

| Boning is not something I do often so it makes no sense to buy a boning knife...well not for a high price. I find this a great addition to my premium knives and worth the investment for this special task...also works great for filleting. |

| I purchased the 8 piece Forschner block set (plus the 7 inch Santoku), and highly recommend this set and the extra 7 inch Santoku which fits in the same block.
The deciding factor for me were the comments by professional chefs and butchers on various web sites including this one. The problem with purchasing individual knives is that the cases are very expensive (with shipping and handling the mark up over mfg cost must be 1000%?), but you just cannot have sharp knives loose in a drawer.
