| I love this pan. I've avoided getting a cast iron skillet for ages because I was afraid it would be hard to manage and hard to take care of. But this pan is really easy. Lodge Cast Iron has a website that has a really nice Use and Care section so that helped me with knowing how to take care of the skillet.

| This is the first cast iron dutch oven I have ever purchased and I am glad I did. The seasoning appears to be perfect, there is no off smell (even after I have used it) and there is no rust or imperfections. I cannot speak about every dutch oven that came off the line, but, I am glad I ignored the negative reviews and purchased this product. |

| I have fond memories of my family members using cast iron pans. Once I grew up I forgot about such things and got caught up in all the other neat pots and pans. Now I am going back to my roots and buying lodge cast iron. I have thrown most of my other pans, especially those with teflon coating. This pan has been used just about every day for two weeks (since I received it) and it is now my favorite. I love it and I love Amazon! |

| I try to buy stuff that is made in USA, hence the Lodge Cast Iron cookware. You think a company like Lodge could find a way to make these in the US. How much money are they saving?

| I bought one of these a few months ago and it broke almost immediately. The metal prongs that attach the head to the handle popped out of the handle the very first time I used it.
I couldn't believe that something would be so poorly made, so, embarrassingly, I purchased another one. The second one broke BEFORE I EVEN GOT A CHANCE TO USE IT. Again, the head popped off the handle. Unbelievably bad. |

| Although it is heavy, it is very well made and cooks food wonderfully. I made a pot of chili and had no problems with it at all. Clean up was a breeze, and it looks so pretty on my stove or on the table during a meal. I won't buy anything else in the future but Lodge Cast-Iron. At my age, I deserve the best! |

| I hated my mother's cast iron skillet, it was so big and heavy, but she had to feed a family of nine. Now I am getting reaquainted with cast iron, and wish I hadn't stayed away so long. The 8" is perfect for me, not so much heavy, as solid. Heats pretty quick, clean up and care is simple. I have left teflon on the burner before and am not surprized that the horrid smell is also toxic. I'd rather have the added iron in my diet instead of teflon or alluminum. | I've had this griddle for about 2 months now. This is my first cast iron piece and I'm quite impressed by the quality from Lodge Logic. I was introduced to the brand from early seasons of Alton Brown's Good Eats program.
Cast iron is great for grilling meats because it can retain and distribute heat evenly. Love the sound of meat searing and grill marks? Look no further. | First of all let me say that I only use cast iron and stainless steel cookware. I don't use aluminum (brain damage) or non-stick (carcinogenic) cookware ever. Cast iron cookware takes years to season because it has to smooth out from use and the deposit of microscopic carbon molecules. Because of that pre-seasoning is kind of useless. I think every cook should have 3 pieces of cast iron: A grill pan, a dutch oven and a frying pan. If you can't cook it in one of those, it probably can't be cooked.
