| I was in the market for a digital thermometer to replace my old cheap analog, and did some comparison browsing. It seems like there won't be a huge difference between models, so it mainly boils down to price and recommendations.

| I and my professional barbecue team partners have been using three of these units (same model)for a year and a half, with no problems and usage of an average of 45 events per year/40 tests per event. Just use average, sensible care and they work well. I suspect that some of the users who rate these poorly do not have experience and the sense to utilize them the way they are intended. A fine product for the money. Even if I got a year out of each of them, they would be an accurate bargain. |

| I use it for everything: meat, casseroles or anything where an internal temperature is important (or even just nice to have). It is amazing. It provides a really quick read so I don't have to stand and wait. A very large temperature display window makes reading the number easy and there is never any confusion about what the number is. This thermometer was highly recommended by Cook's Illustrated, deservedly so. |

| This timer has done a good job for me, reminding me time is up at times, and counting time for me at other times. Easy to wear around your neck, comfortable and light weight. Biggest drawback if any is the alarm is not very loud, it is as loud as most timers, but if it were louder I would like it better. |

| I'd send it back but I threw out the packaging when the item arrived the same morning as trash pickup. I rate this product ZERO stars. Amazon forces you to rate at least 1 star to proceed with the review but this unit doesn't deserve that. Anyway, look at the picture and you'll see that the largest button on the unit, at the bottom and in the middle, is the STOP button, which when pressed stops the timer countdown.
