| I have owned this product for almost two years now. It was a very wise investment. If you want a pda/gps/mp3 player all in one, this is the product for you. The only compliant I have is the need to do a soft restart in the midst of do something (notorious for Windows Mobile). Although I have never had the GPS software cause the PDA to freeze. | I love this tool and used it regularly on a recent motorcycle tour of Colorado. The barometer showed local atmospheric conditions and helped us with daily route planning and it was fun to use to the altimeter and see just how high we were - over 12, 000 feet in Rocky Mountain National Park. The compass came in handy on our hikes.
This is not a difficult tool to use and the displays are easy to read. It appears to be made of the usual Brunton quality. I didn't give it five stars because of the included ... Read More: |

| This has been a solid GPS receiver for general situational awareness and logging trackpoints. After several years of pretty heavy use while hiking, walking, mountain biking, commute biking, and the occasional trip up in a model airplane, the receiver still works fine and has decent battery life. The only problem I've had with it is that sometimes the display will get corrupted on a button push and the system will require a reboot - I honestly can't tell if it's a software or hardware problem, but I've never ... | I had my GPS for over 6 months and loved it-very intuitive user friendly interface, quick acquisition, NO nonessential bells and whistles. I would have given it 5 stars. Reason for a one star: when I received the email from Magellan that a new maps update for the 2008/2009 is available for a download for "only" $79.00, I screamed bloody murder. I understand that the update should cost some money, but almost 50% of the purchase price seems like a big ripoff to me. It's my fault for not reading/investigating the upgrade ... Read More: |

| I purchased this GPS so my family could start to go geocaching. It has been awesome. I don't think it has ever lost coverage even though we are sometimes in the thick woods. The batteries also last a long time. I would highly recommend this product. |

| While the magnet is powerful, apparently it is not powerful enough. I put it on a vehicle, and the vehicle came back without it. It may have been wet, and it was a large vehicle that bounces around, but it shouldn't have fallen off. |

| I've used one of these GPS units for the past couple of years, and have used several others including the III+ and the eTrex and the GPS 12 is by the the winner if you want a unit that will hold the satellites when you are travelling through dense trees and foliage. It is a great unit that is simple to use and program, if you want a solid performer this is it. |
