| I'm still learning all the features, but so far I've been very pleased with this camera. Picture quality is great. All pictures come out good on auto adjust settings. The camera has many others, for night time, indoor, outdoor, party, etc, but the auto seems to work the best. But like I said I'm still learning how to use the camera. | The 10.0 megapixel A1000IS is a good camera but nothing that I would consider a massive improvement in everyday 4x6 to 5x7 photo quality over my old Canon Power Shot 2.0 megapixel A40. The video function is improved but that's video -- and it eats memory like a hungry hound. In most pedestrian ways I prefer the A40.

| Beware of the shipping on this product. The boxed camera was thrown into a larger box with NO packing to protect it. When the UPS box arrived, it had been crushed, scuffed, and kicked. Since this thing has a digital hard drive, I am amazed that Amazon would allow such carelessness. BE CAREFUL OF ORDERING ELECTRONICS OF ANY KIND FROM AMAZON. This is not the first time such careless packing has been an issue |

| I have a Canon i9100 wide-format printer. I've tried several after-market ink tanks that are supposed to fit this printer but non have worked- they don't fit in the ink carriage. So I'm stuck with using the Canon brand. Amazon's price for the BCI-6 6-pack is about the cheapest I've found for the branded stuff. Since these are ink tanks and not cartridges they are not recyclable as credits for new tanks. Also, this printer/tank combination goes through ink like crazy, way more is used than my old HP used. | I picked this up on recommendation of a friend for my New Rebel XSi. I've still only used it minimally, but the shots I have taken have been wonderful. I still need to take it out and shoot the kids playing soccer, baseball or basketball to see how the action is both in doors and outside, but for relatively slow moving or still shots, it's been great.
The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I have not had enough time with it yet. |

| This ink always works. I would prefer to use third party ink, but I've learned my lesson in the past with other printers that stopped working after awhile. I buy my ink from Amazon usually with cupons and because it is convenient and a little less expensive, however now that Amazon is charging sales tax I may look for another source. Third party sellers usually don't include tax and even with shipping and handling it is still usually less expensive than buying the ink locally or from canon itself. |
