| I bought this camera during the Thanksgiving sales. Very good value with its price. And the brand Nikon also has value. color is ok (I took two years of photograhy in college), sharpness is good and I like the contrast.
The large LCD screen is its main value; But it eats battery like crazy. It consumes one pair of AA batteries in a day of shooting of around 50-60 pictures and 2 videos. I paid $89.00 for the cam, but I expect another $89.00 for the battery soon. |

| I purchased a Canon SD600 a couple of years ago before a trip to Europe and, as an afterthought, also picked up a spare battery, camera case, and neck strap. My thoughts:
1) The second battery is useful only if you run out of juice in the middle of a great photo moment...then it is essential. 2) The camera case included here is a poor choice: too tight a fit for the camera and it affords no room for a spare battery, SD card, or...anything at all. | This camera is the worst camera I've ever owned. I had the camera for about 2 months, and the USB part of the camera broke. I sent it in for repair (per Sony), and it came back to me still broken. Sony was VERY unhelpful and didn't even seem to care about my broken camera. I will never buy another Sony camera. This camera does take good pictures, but if you're looking to download the pictures onto your computer then I would suggest finding a better camera! Buyer Beware!!!! |

| The product is good from usability but Windows 2000 users have to be careful about transferring photos onto PC. I had to buy a Card Reader to do that. The installation CD was not very helpful in locating the reqd driver for the device. |

| I researched for some time to upgrade from a Canon A570 point and shoot...a nice camera but not up to my skill level at photography. So I came upon the Rebels and the new XS. I am very pleased with the outcomes so far. This is very easy to use, being familiar with Canon products and the autolevels are accurate.

| This lens is by far the best bang for the buck offered by Nikon. This is my favorite lens and is virtually glued to my D80. The DOF is super thin at 1.8 and the sharpness is amazing, even wide open. The speed of the lens really great and opens up a lot of indoor and low light shooting opportunities, especially when flash is not allowed or inappropriate.
This lens does not auto focus on the D40, D40x, or D60, but if you're willing to use manual focus, it will still be well worth the money. |
