| The Garmin nuvi 660 is a great GPS. I bought it for my mother-in-law. I was not familiar with GPS units and was concerned she would have problems "figuring it out" and using it. I got it a week ahead of her birthday, downloaded the latest maps (received great CS from Garmin) and had used it a few times so that I was familiar enough with it that I could answer her questions when she called. | It worked very well for the first 2.5 months. I rely on it to get me places and after 2.5 months, it shut off and would not stay on. The battery was run down and it would not recharge with the 12V cigarette lighter attachment.
It took some time on the customer service line, about 15 minutes. However, they were helpful and are sending out the cable and adapter for the 12V line. Better than having to ship the thing in and wait. |

| Great unit. Has pertinent options and features for those going down a strange road. "Points of interest" are fantastic. For those of us who don't have nerd brains, there was no instruction manual (other than start up) so I had to learn on the fly, w/ a lot of back buttons & redos. The only major issue I have is that the unit takes one down the shortest route without discrmination, including dirt two tracks. | This GPS unit, being the first GPS system that I own, works very well for my purpose. I normally like to find my way around on my own but this GPS is great for those once-in-a-while I'm lost moments. It's slightly bulky but very light, and the screen color/graphic is fairly decent. Accurate directions, and easy to use system perfect for my occasional use.
I wish though, there could've been some sort of Google map intergration because sometimes the GPS system would give me a set of directions, but I tend to like the Google map directions ... Read More: |

| Have not used it a lot yet, I find the menus very primitive compared to a cell phone.
Can't review the route. Doesn't recognize US-131 highway. Difficult to add intermediate stops or intersections. Expected much more. |
