| Based on Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet and set in modern New York with rival gangs. This is a great musical! Bernstein's score is a masterpiece of vocal and instrumental arrangements! The sets are a masterpiece of colour and design! The dancing is glorious! The singing is passionate! And it has a raw yet romantic feel. The director has captured a unique and surreal world and has created what I consider the most extraordinary dramatic musical ever made!

| My family and I have been watching Holiday Inn every Christmas Eve for the past twenty one years! All three kids know the songs by heart. To me, no film has the mixture of sentiment and elegance that this one has.

| I am a dancer and ballet is my favorite type of dance. I have seen dozens of different Nutcrackers over the years, from the traditional to the avand garde. Nothing can compare with this version. Baryshnikov shines. And Kirkland is a most sensuous Clara/Marie. Their duet at the end replaced the traditional "sugarplum fairy" dance. But, what a duet! I never get tired of watching it. A true Christmas treasure. |

| If you like old movies, this is a good one. The story is not that great but the dancing & singing are very good. You realize what a good singer Howard Keel is & I didn't even know Jane Wyatt cold sing, and she is very good. |

| Very disappointing. We didn't even watch all of it.......would return for a refund if I could. It's nothing but advertisements of the movies,lots of print (telling it's in what kind of color, extravaganza, etc.) Boring! It had VERY brief segments from different movies. I thought there would be some complete movies, not just segments. The cover even shows 6 specific movies!! |
