| This is my favorite film adaptation of my favorite Austen novel. I saw it years ago on PBS and wore out a VHS copy before finally finding it on dvd. I teach high school English, and my students dislike this version because they have been spoon-fed by Hollywood and want everything slick and sanitized, and this is neither. | This is just a nice holiday themed romance, that is great any time of year. It's not sappy, but just a light hearted romance. Very good movie if you like holiday movies or romance movies. |

| WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING is my favorite Sandra Bullock movie. It's the kind of corny that Frank Capra might have enjoyed. This is a feel-good movie, with some very funny lines in it, plenty of loveable goofballs, and an excellent romance. If it's a chick flick, it's one that can be appreciated by both sexes. I love it. |

| As always Meryl Streep shows the quality of her acting ability. She is superb, one of the best of contemporary actresses. Redford is good when he acts, awful when he tries to be a politician. |
