GREAT MOVIE!!
Harryhausen is a genius, the movie is full of action, special effects, monsters, good acting and many exciting adventure sequences. Simbad (1958), Jason and the Argonauts and this one are the COOLEST action packed fantasy films by Harryhausen. I don't blame anyone if they don't like Harryhausen's animations because they look like clay, but they got to understand that theses animations opened the door to the special effects that we are used to now. I also love the movie Circle ... Read More:

Yet another film with a tedious barely concealed Christian agenda. The Dark Ages did not end with the introduction of Christianity to England - the Dark Age began with the introduction of Christianity to England and Christianity (the real myth and legend)infects us all still.

The lord of rings movie trilogy was good, but Peter Jackson stole the best of its ideas from Boorman's Excalibur. This one is absolutely my favorite movie of all times. Not a crowd pleaser, anyway, as much as Jackson's: the problem is, those who have no esoteric knowledge will never come to appreciate Boorman fully. The true spirit of knights on one side, the true spirit of sorcerers on the other, are both faithfully represented in Excalibur, like no other movie was able to do. None of the dialogs are superfluos, ... Read More:

Special effects wizard Ray Harryhausen is perhaps the only technical person in the history of the film business to be treated as the primum mobile behind the films he worked on. In effect, to use the European cinema parlance- he was the auteur of his films; the directors were utterly interchangeable. In fact, the only constant through many of his classics was producer Charles Schneer. This is most evidenced in the 1963 action and fantasy classic Jason And The Argonauts, part of the five film DVD collection The Fantastic ... Read More:

Jason and the ArgonautsI enjoyed Greek Mythology as a child and it was wonderful to have it all come to life. I felt as though I was living the adventure with them and it was very interesting to see how they handled some aspects of the myth. I really enjoyed the fulm and it will be one of my favourites. You could join me and have some fun.

I remember watching Hercules and Hercules Unchained starring the great Steve Reeves when I was a child. It used to be on T.V. all the time back in the 60's. Now I watch both movies on DVD. I don't even care that the video seem washed out or the sound is bad. Every time I watch one of those movies, it brings back my childhood memories. To really enjoy both movies you have to watch them back to back. To me they are my all time favorite movies.

This movie is best enjoyed with small children or drunks. The premise: A slightly homo-erotic-tailored Sean Connery as the green knight (think armored Zardoz) decides to challenge the nearby king's court to a game of wits and bravery. The challenge is answered by Sir Gawain, Miles O'Keeffe, whose ridiculous 80's hair stretches credulity more than the unicorns and witches. If you're prepared to laugh and enjoy the great overplayed soundtrack this film has to offer, like so many funnier repeats of the 1981 Excalibur, this is a movie for you.

DVD : Ulysses
Kirk Douglas was simply outstanding in this legendary epic saga of Ulysses; King of Ithaca, husband of Penelope: The script is based in the most relevant and emotive sequences of Homer's Odyssey; with magnificent special effects, the encounter with the one' eye giant, the mermaid's songs, the spelling of Circe in what we will find out one of the most expressive, gratifying and ethic confrontations, when Circe proposes him to be God and he replies: there are still major gifts, like to be born, to die and in the middle of the interval: to be a man!

Especially any inclination to find fault. If you're going to start complaining about anything at all in this movie, you're not going to get far. It is brilliant, and edge-of-your-seat exciting. The acting is fantastic, particularly by the minotaurathon, and the use of telepatheiaia is awesome. There is some absolutely riveting, shocking, positively indecent nudity. The plotting is highly logical, linear and makes total sense. You can't say it doesn't have twists. One of the villains has an eye-patch, but you can't be sure which eye it's covering. Perhaps ...
