| The Lord of the Rings (the whole series) is the BEST FILM ever made. The Lord of the Rings is more than simply a film it is ART. Elijah Wood's acting in the film is the best I've ever seen, not to mention the outstanding performance from Sean Astin and the rest of the cast. The movie won every Oscar it was nominated for. It's a crying shame that the actors were not nominated for Oscars, I feel that if Elijah Wood is not worthy of an Oscar that they should stop giving them out. |

| this is without a doubt the greatest horror movie of all time. never ever watch the rated version because it is missing 10 min worth of glorious little 2 to 10 second frames of absolute bloody horror goodness. without these scenes it becomes the WORST horror movie of all time and destroys all hope for a better world and not to mention a great film watching experience. |

| Though the image shows this as a boxed set it is not. These are the most basic widescreen recordings of these great movies in individual DVD packaging. The 'special features' discs are included and the packages are sealed and brand new.
I've seen the quality of the director's cut special edition DVD's and that is better than the quality of these recordings. All in all, these are a very good value for the money. They arrived safely, are brand new and work perfectly. |

| Peter Jackson's adaptation of The Fellowship of the Ring is a good representation of Tolkien's original work, but it is also a very well-made movie. Just like Tolkien's book, The Lord of the Rings, has long been the standard to which most fantasy books are compared, I believe fantasy movies will be held against the movie trilogy for many years to come. (Be aware that this review may contain some SPOILERS).

| Reviewers here rightly comment on how refreshing it is to see a spy with a sense of morality. John Drake lives by a strict moral code. He is not a womanizer, and does not like violence. This echoes the life of McGoohan himself, who does not like filming love scenes because he doesn't want to kiss women other than his wife, and who is also very devoutly religious. When he was young he even for a time considered becoming a priest.

| I did not think they could suscessfully make a flim of this story without it being a shambles. I was very happy to learn I was wrong they did an outstanding job with special effects as well as the tale told in the movie by staying on task with what needed to be included and triming what could be taken out. |
