| I was born in 1983 and I grew up watching this show. I even had an ALF doll. This was a hilarious show and I still crack up thinking about him and his obsession with cats. If you enjoyed this as a child, I do recommend buying the DVD. It is the syndicated version but it's still good and worth the purchase. Also, young children may enjoy this as well. Even though it's many years old, it's still geared towards kids. I know I still love it after all these years. |

| It is with some relief that I can report at least two episodes from Gomer Pyle fifth season that are plot reliant on songs appear on the DVD set unchanged. The extended musical number between Carol Burnett and Nabors is there and "Blowing In The Wind" miraculosly survived in the hippie episode. I still don't approve of what CBS/Par did to this series, but the episodes I was worried about came through largely unscathed.

| I LOVE The Mary Tyler Moore Show,and the first 4 years 70-74 were my favorite show.Its great to have all 4 in one box set.

| Mary, Mary, Mary....
Season 1-4 are all wonderful, why can't Fox or whoever is responsible put out the rest of the seasons? This series stands the test of time. The clothes and hair doos might be a little dated, but the show is top notch. Great acting, great writing. |

| I know this has nothing to do with the actual show, but what happened to Flo Henderson's looks after the Christmas episode (which, by the way, is one of the two best episodes in this set)? I know she was supposed to be sick in that one, but her appearance drastically changed after that. Not only did she have that ridiculous hairdo (sort of like a mullet), she also appeared gaunt and looked as if she had aged ten years. Did fashion change that much between 1969 and 1970?

| Don't get me wrong -- Gomer is a 5-star TV show, but Paramount's infuriating censorship of these episodes cuts some of the very best moments, such as Gomer singing to the dog Killer [a.k.a. Lemley Gilbert], a scene that is still extant in prints out there, still appearing just a couple of years ago on TV Land. The senseless cuts really do take their toll and make this set less enjoyable to watch than the first season collection, which was much better than this set.
