| High Spirits is about a man named Peter Plunkett whose castle in Ireland is haunted by ghosts again. He decides to have the staff pretend they are ghosts to scare some tourists. Among the tour guides are a couple named Jack and Sharon Crawford who are having problems in their relationship. It isnt until Jack meets the beautiful ghost, Mary, when he realizes his love for another person, well ghost that is! Very funny, exciting, and just pure fun! |

| You blu ray owners that are whining about grain in movies on blu ray should educate yourselves on how the movie was shot to begin with. Time isn't always the culprit for lower quality films. This is why say One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest looks so rich and clean and this one doesn't. A lot of things play a factor, between the biggest which is type of film stock, camera, lenses, lighting. | This film has a real power to it, and presents a major historical figure in a way that is easy to appreciate. The acting and directing is superb and the film is very engrossing, and in some places extremely sad. I'd strongly recommend this. |

| I heard this movie was great and couldn't find it at Blockbuster so I decided it was probably worth purchasing. I watched it with 2 friends and we all thought the movie was good the first 20 minutes (which is about someone being held captive) and then after that it was unwatchable. After 20 minutes it becomes a completely different movie about love between a man and a man dressed as a woman. Two very different plots. Top 5 worst movie ever. |

| I tried to watch this film twice. I gave up early the first time because I couldn't understand a lot of the dialogue. The Cockney accents did me in. Most of the time the girl spoke is a very low voice and I missed most of what she said.
However it looked so good that I tried again the next evening and got through almost half of it. I could tell that the acting was first rate and I wanted to stick it out. | The concept of lycanthropy as a metaphor for sexual initiation is an interesting one, full of implications to keep a graduate student writing for days on end. Unfortunately, this film fails to adapt the concept smoothly, and its jarring visuals (really, could we not find even a couple of wolves for shooting, instead of using Belgian sheepdogs?!) undermine its attempts at real art.
