And a slap in the face to the fans of this lame show!
I have watched every episode of this series at least once; some twice or even three times, if they are exceptional!
But what I cannot stand is being taken for a chump!
I am not going to go into a detailed review of these two "Straight to DVD movies". There are more than enough posts to cover the bogus, rehashed plot elements.
I am briefly going to cover one important fact. The Stargate & Company franchise's attitude ... Read More:

I never watched SG-1 but I caught an episode of Atlantis one day on the SCI FI Channel. Whoa...the Wraiths had me hooked! With their nasty habit of feeding off humans you'd think they'd be extremely repulsive. However, wrap them in black leather coats and striking long white locks, give them audacious fighting skills, and have them go toe-to-toe with the humans and somehow they become the most appealing "bad" guys I've ever watched (next to Prince Nuada). Engaging acting by all--watch my personal ... Read More:

I saw the movie Stargate but never watched SG-1. I was missing my dose of Sci Fi. I still miss Babylon 5 and the Trek series (not enterprise). SGA is a welcome addition to my library.

Season 2
DVD Set:
1. The discs are great and easy to take them out.
2. Slim type case gives extra room, not like the Buffy, Babylon 5, Lois & Clark to name a few that take a lot of space.
3. THERE ARE SCENE SELECTIONS ON THIS SET. Thank you for that... I hated that season 1 did ... Read More:

In my opinion acting and casting are not good in this sci-fi. Altough there are some interesting episodes, most of the scenes are in stereotypical settings. Outdoor scenes are sometimes illustrated with artificial paintings, which is dissapointing.

"Jeremiah" is set in an alternate universe where everyone is blessed with a crystal clear memory of their early childhood years and a complete blank of what transpired between the ages of 12 and 27.

The premise is that 15 years prior to the show a virus wiped out every living human being over the age of thirteen. Left without parental guidance, electricity, television, movies or anything else, the orphaned children of the world spend the next 15 years eating canned food and killing one another - and somehow ... I thought this was great for the whole family. This movie is not rated, and usually, I base many of my choices on the rating. For those of you who do the same: The language overall was good. I think they used the word "sucks" a few times. There was a quick reference to "the naked channel", but it was very quick and not focused on. The main character asks what it is, and the supporting character says "it's a lot like the nature channel only more gross", and that was that. There is a bully that they call "Butterbutt", but ... Don't buy this movie thinking that it will be some real thriller with a lot of blood and guts. It was released by Pulsepounders, a Canadian film company which produces family film horror.

Thouroughly entrenched in the PG range, this is more Goosebumps than Scream and that's a good thing for parents with kids into the horror genre.

A teenage boy uses his wits and the support of his family to save his town from a coven of Vampires. The special effects aren't great, the costumes aren't either, but it serves ... Read More:

DVD : Black Books - The Complete First and Second Series
I am not a fan of British comedy that is heavy on slapstick so this series would naturally have some problems for me. However, the characters, especially Manny, are very funny most of the time and the dialog has some real zingers. The central character, however, does start to wear thin because he is such a slovenly idiot and so over the top most of the time. I finished viewing the lst season wondering if I could stand a second one but I think Manny might bring me around.
