| This is an excellent Boheme in every respect. I would note that I own the regular DVD in a widescreen version, and although the "product details" of this Blu-Ray version indicate that the production is in a 1:33::1 aspect ratio (i.e., full screen), it is more than likely in widescreen (i.e., 1:77::1). It's an unfortunate fact that--every now and then--widescreen versions of some films are carelessly (and incorrectly) characterized as full screen. |

| Hardly the jejune form of opera that Gluck railed against. Much of the energy for this staging emanates from Danielle De Niese, who surely could charm a eunuch, in the role of Cleopatra. John McVickers is to be praised for this production; Christie also -- as usual. |

| Maria Ewing is a friend of mine. I have always been thrilled by her performances. This performance is no different. She is stunning as is the entire cast and production. This should be in every opera fans library. But, more importantly, this DVD would be a great tool to turn new fans on to opera and how exciting and informative it can be when done correctly! Brava and Bravo!!! |

| This movie was okay. The scenes are pretty lifeless and I guess artists could go through this. I feel this ones solely for cash. It's more of a lewd romp for cash and fame. But this really is how some sh$t could go
down. It's like that movie Kids, but Kids had more made up problems that actually exist. Still a solid movie in terms of cinema. |

| I was thrilled to find in this morning's mail, the hot-off-the-press DVD release of the Kent Opera production of Sir Michael's "King Priam." This has for years been one of my favorite videos of any opera, and though I still own it on VHS, that tape has seen better days, so I've been waiting for this to appear on DVD - for years never believing it would finally happen. | Wonderful theatre from South Africa. Don't let the four languages put you off - even if you only understand English, you can easily follow the plot if you know the Bible stories well, and get full enjoyment from the stories and the richness of the music and culture. The acting, music and dancing is superb - its not just Bible stories, but amazing theatre. |
