| It took me a number of years to finally rent and watch this film. I can only say that it was extremely well done, from the acting to the film score to the sets and the photography. The cast and crew of this movie - especially Salma Hayek and director Julie Taymor - deserve enormous praise for creating a film both masterful and compelling, in its story of this brilliant and talented woman. | Amazon is not at all consistent when providing shoppers with the technical specs of DVDs in general and multi-disk box sets in particular; specifically whether or not they're all ANAMORPHIC.
I assumed (incorrectly) that this version of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' would be anamorphic, as are the other two DVDs in the box set. Turns out it's the same NON-anamorphic, widescreen letterbox version released on 25 January 2001 (UPC 086162123085), and occupies less than half the area of a 50" screen. | This is a stunning and daring production of a real jewel. Stravinsky's music for this opera-oratorio is compelling and beautiful. Julie Taymor succeeded in transforming what the composer saw as a static staging into a great experience with the right amount of movement without contradicting the composer's vision.

| This edition includes the two movies on two separate discs and "Evita" is still the exact same disc everyone has been overstocked with and can buy 50 copies for $10 each at Virgin. I bought this edition just assuming "Evita" would finally be formatted and watchable on a 16 by 9 tv and I don't know if I'm entitled to a refund or not so right now I'm out $18 and this distributor needs to stop being so lazy repackaging DVDs printed 10 years ago and not even watchable on a modern tv especially considering the quality of the film.
