| Title is a little misleading. This is not a so called Christian Movie, but there are several references about Christianity or God in it. There is quite a bit ow swearing, and I suppose it did happen.
Now about the movie. It is an excellent tribute to those who pioneered heart surgery. Although it is about surgery, there is as much said about racial problems and progress as well. We need more movies about true stories that help shape our country. |

| Stay away from this ugly pan and scan and instead consider MGM's European PAL region 2 version (if your DVD player can handle it) - The PAL 2 is a near perfect, beautiful, anamorphic wide screen. | This is one of the best Old testaments movies I have seen yet and I have seen many. It is true to the Bible and very exciting.
Old Testament history is hard to keep straight as so very much happens but this film will burn this time of Saul and David and his son Solomon in your mind and heart not to be forgotten. | Burt Reynolds at the top of his stud game, the hot, sweaty South, rednecks, shine, sexy 70's chicks, and powerful cars. I hardly know what to add.
As always, the 70's movies reel me in. This one's no exception. I suppose because I was a kid then, I love remeniscing. | those who "know" auschwitz from several books and documentations know that several things in that film are not like they were in reality. but this is not important.
the story of gisela perl - a jewish hungarian doctor in auschwitz during ww2 - is told. and it's done well! it was sad to see the US authorities' skepticism she was exposed to during her interrogation, when she applied to work as a doctor in the states and was seeking american citizenship. they even accused her to have collaborated with dr. | "Warm Springs" is a masterpiece of story-telling about the changes FDR experienced through his struggles with polio and his other demons. It shows his very human side and his transformation from a vain, egotistical alcoholic and womanizer into the much-loved and admired president that he eventually became. This movie is a masterpiece of acting and story-telling. I enjoyed it very much and am so happy to add it to my movie library. |
