| A great World War 1 classic aviation movie. The aerial combat footage, done without any computer virtual reality animation is quite spectacular. The acting, especially from the european cast was quite good. |

| Unlike most if not all of the reviewers of this film, I saw it when it first came out in 1969. I watched it again (the DVD) just this month (Nov 08). Why? Because it stuck with me and I wanted to see it again.
I submit that any film that sticks with you for almost 40 years is a good film. Not necessarily a great film, but a good one. It falls short of greatness due to a number of flaws. | I'm not a big fan of King Kong, but I have seen all three films: 1933, 1976, and 2005. The original 1933 film is a classic in its own right. The 2005 remake could've been better, but it had its moments. And right in the middle, the first 1976 remake is a love-or-hate motion picture. There are no dinosaurs, no chewing on natives, and no famous T-rex fight, which makes it a bit less exciting. Unlike the others, which are set in 1933, this one is set in the 70's. | I have watched this film multiple times over the years. It is a great piece of miltaria, and a fine example of Sir Richard's tremendous range as an actor of the old school. The details of a mixed BA/native contingent Battalion in the last days of the Empire are spot on. The frustration of a proper RSM doing his duty in the manner that has served his sovereign and country well for decades only to be stimied by politics can be appreciated by current and former NCOs of all nations. I simply adore this movie. |

| One of the greatest westerns I have watched. Of course I think Kris Kristofferson rates one of the greatest. I don't like sad ending movies but I am so glad I didn't miss this one. Noble Adams (Kris) was one of the best trackers of his time. He showed no mercy to the killers he tracted and he knew if he wasn't hard they would surley kill him. But on his gentle loving side he send his son Tom Adams (Mark Moses) to get an education so people would look up to him and he could walk proud. | I bought this set because I wanted to collect every Peter Ustinov portrayal of Hercule Poirot. Two of the movies are fabulous. As for "The Mirror Cracked", Ustinov is not in the cast and I could do without the plot as well. Nonethe less, I'm glad I purchased the set. |
