| One cannot help but be mesmerized by the wordcraft of Willy Maugham. Perhaps the best novel of all time is his "The Moon and Sixpence," a quasi-biographical social commentary of late 19th early 20th century mores and expectations.

| This is by far the funniest movie in my collection. I first watched it in 1987 and have loved it ever since. I bought the VHS version and played it until it was nearly unwatchable. I bought the DVD version as soon as I heard that it had been released. If you enjoy comedies like Superbad, Idiocrasy, and Grandma's Boy, then this movie is for you. |

| John Byrum's 1975 film "Inserts" owes a lot to Hitchcock's 1948 classic "Rope". Although it does not feature Hitchcock's experimental feature length continuous shot, it is nonetheless told in real time. The 115 minute running length is the time needed to tell the story as it is the entire duration of the action on the screen, nicely book-ended by shots of the main character alone in his Hollywood home playing the piano.
