| I was so excited to hear this was coming to DVD ( My Three Sons), but when i read the reviews here. CBS/Paramount When are you guys going to learn not to mess with customers that pay your salaries? I guess you just want to lose customers left and right, first you screwed up with The Fugitive - Season Two, Vol. 1, then The Beverly Hillbillies and now this ! get with the program, i'm to a fan of these classic shows and want an unedited version with no original music missing or scenes etc. I guess ... | I bought the entire series and it has been Exellent up to Season 7 Episode (Our Finest Hour). When you go to watch it, It says it is The Syndicated Version because the Original Print was Destroyed over time. And was Deemed Unworthy for this DVD release.
This really upsets me, let ME decide what's Unworthy and what's not. Use both versions and let WE the buying public decide for ourselves. Also, what they are telling us is that only the Cut out scenes were destroyed, I find that a little ... Read More: |

| I loved this series and had not seen it in many years as the seem to stop showing the older series. Bill..a bachelor with a male house keeper, suddenly gets his 2 nieces and 1 nephew to come live with him. A heart warming series. |

| As a young man I video-ed much of the first series - the DVD's are even better with the zany spoofs so masterfully crafted. But I felt quite cheated to discover that eight episodes (four in each series) are truncated, and overlayed with Spencer's commentary, such that you can't enjoy those particular episodes. Why didn't he at least duplicate those episodes without the commentary as an option? It's not as if he isn't featured elsewhere providing commentary.

| The presentation of the second season sees the series begin to mature and feel more confident in the style of stories and execution to present.
So much has been said about this series, I can hardly add anything new. I saw these in "first run" as a kid and I still love them, though I really have to be in the right frame of mind to watch them. |

| It is a real shame that a juggernaut like CBS/Paramount is taking advantage of consumers with releases like this. For fans of these old series, it is a no-win situation. If you buy this DVD, you're telling CBS/Paramount that is okay to release a half season of cut episodes minus the original music and charge full price. However, if you don't buy this DVD, you run the risk of CBS/Paramount not releasing further seasons due to poor sales. | If paramount is compiling these DVDs from TV land edited versions, do not waste your money. Their editing is ridiculous, often cutting the best scenes from classic favorites. All for a few more advertising dollars. It should be illeal. |

| Sanford & Son Really hit its stride in the second season. Redd Foxx had to be one of the funniest people on TV; his portrayal of Fred Sanford was impeccable. Demond Wilson as Lamont Sanford was an excellent foil to Fred.
There are several classic episodes in this set that I'm sure many people will recall. There are some episodes from the original British version (Steptoe & Son) that have been rewritten for the American version.
