| Bad direction keeps this movie from being good. In fact, even Barbara Stanwyck comes off looking awkward in some scenes. But she can never be truly bad. Her presence and a great supporting cast keep me watching this one again and again: (the usually weird) Sydney Greenstreet feels just enough out of place to be really fun, (the often overly cute) S. | Invasion of the Body Snatchers is one of my all time favorite Horror, Sci-Fi pictures of all time and one of the best of the genre from the 50s. I just love the concept of the movie and everything here works to near perfection. While not as scary or suspenseful today as it once was, Invasion of the Body Snatchers actually holds up rather well and while dated in spots again holds up rather well overall.

| I recently bought this DVD along with "Bullit" because I wanted to see if my recollections of these two very popular films were accurate. In the case of "Bullit", yes. This movie is actually better than I recall back when I was 17 in 1969. McQueen should have won an Oscar for that performance. "Dirty Harry" is inferior in every way: script, direction, sound, and acting. I had trouble staying with "Dirty Harry" what with all the 70s clichés that kept popping up to spoil it. | I know many have seen this picture before, but it added so much more seeing it at home and being able to cry freely, knowing what I know now. I was in "The Duke's" final days with him and it just made it that more special. I bought it for someone special, who could not believe that I would be ever able to find it again since it had been so long. It made him smile, yes cry, and even laughed a few times. The price was right, the search was easy, and it is a movie that will be treasured forever. |

| I love the picture quality of this great DVD set and also the commentaries on all of the movies. These are movies I can watch over and over again and never get tired of. Along with the commentaries they are a pretty good education in film noir. |

| This film based on a true incident involving the last successful escape from Alcatraz was the last colloboration between Clint Eastwood and Don Siegel and the result is a winner!! | Steve in fine form as a rugged loner trapped by Germans with a few of his fellow dogfaces. More like a tv show than a movie because of the cheap set and low-budget look of the whole film it manages to sail along holding one's interest with lots of dramatic interest by scenery-chewers like Bob Newhart doing a long comedy shtick somewhat peculiarly in the middle of the film. This movie did a lot of good for McQueen's career and helped cement its status as a classic of the genre. |
