| I just finished watching this for the first time in a long time. This is an EXCELLENT film noir. Its not often a modern day noir hits the jackpot but this did. Shot back in the day when Noirs were being made like crazy. The pace is swift, the acting is fantastic, all the stars were perfect in their roles. Excellent story. | I thought I'd seen some quirky comedies, but this one has become my favorite of them all. Michael Douglas, Tobey Maguire, Frances McDormand and Robert Downey Jr. are at their quirkiest in this goofy tale about a group of writers (no need to elaborate, as other reviewers have already covered the story). I've never been a fan of Katie Holmes; only because of her limited acting range (compared to the other cast members).

| Plenty's been said here about the excellent show here, but the DVD producers aren't getting enough credit. Greg the Bunny narrates his own DVD menus with a series of monologues that perfectly fit the mood of the series. Plenty of extras/deleted scenes. Plenty of director commentaries, including a commentary on the lengthy deleted scenes. The only downside is that the producers, writers, etc are all a touch more boring than some. |

| I was impressed with this movie. Usually when singers (or rappers) make a movie, it is subpar. But the plot was great. Even though it focused on a fictional character, it mirrored Eminem's life (aka. Marshall Mathers). This is a good movie, and it does earn it's "R" rating with language and some sexual content. So it would not be good for the younger viewers.
You will really enjoy this movie if you are a fan of Eminem or enjoy rap/hip-hop. All the music in the movie is rap/hip-hop and much of it Eminem wrote himself. I bought ... Read More: |

| The Hand That Rocks the Cradle is all about Rebecca De Mornay in what I consider her best role and performance to date. What makes her character all the more scary is not only the fact she is beautiful but because she behaves so cool, calm and collected from one manipulation to the next. As we watch this devious nanny chip away at the perfect family she should have had, we long for her to be dispatched. De Mornay does not go over the top (with the exception of the bathroom stall scene), but plays it more subtle which proves to be just as effective. ... Read More: |
