| I'm reviewing the blu ray more than the movie; pretty much everyone knows what it's like. But this transfer...oh my god. It has more grain than a wheat field. The picture's fuzzy, and on my 50" tv it barely looked any better than the DVD version of the movie. There's also NO real special features, just a theatrical trailer, so there's really no point in buying the blu ray. Maybe someday they'll clean it up more, but this transfer sucks. |

| Bill Murray as Dr. Hunter S. Thompson? Amazingly he's not badly cast at all, and it's his performance that makes this movie work as often as it does. Anyone who's ever seen interview footage of HST will testify that Bill Murray does an excellent portrayal of him in his prime. While supposedly based on HST's writings, much of this movie is a lot closer to the stoner comedy of Cheech and Chong and it lacks the paranoid psychotic intensity that made HST one of the funniest satirists around. | I loved westerns since I was a kid. John Wayne was king for me when it came to the western genre. I believe two new stars have risen on the frontier; Tom Selleck and Sam Elliott. They both have made several movies and everyone of them John Wayne would watch, if he could, and enjoy. |

| Burt Reynolds at the top of his stud game, the hot, sweaty South, rednecks, shine, sexy 70's chicks, and powerful cars. I hardly know what to add.
As always, the 70's movies reel me in. This one's no exception. I suppose because I was a kid then, I love remeniscing. I like the big cars, the old advertisements, the clothing and hair styles, the lexicon of the era, people smoking indoors. There is also a sense of more space as there really was more space.
