| I had never seen this movie before, but bought it for my mother's birthday. I've already watched it twice. I normally fast forward through an intro, but even the intro song is good. My father and husband were both amused by the antics as well. This was the first time I had seen Stephanie Powers in a dramatic role. I think she was very good at it. Sandra Dee certainly grew up since I had seen her as Gidget. |

| I'd forgotten just how strange this fairytale is. But it's also beautiful to look at, well, besides the inside of the donkey skin and the woman speaking frogs. A bit shocking and bizarre for modern French students, but worth it anyway. That's half the fun right? |

| I like Nathalie Baye, she is definitely not hollywood pretty nor attractive, but like Audrey Tautou who stars in this film, they are both extremely feminine, unlike Emmanuelle Seigner who seems almost masculine next to them.
It is a French movie and you have to accept the plot is thin and the movement slow, but if you dig the French style, then this movie is worth watching several times. |

| "Imperial Venus" is a diverting and sumptuously staged, if rather slight, biopic of Napoleon Bonaparte's beautiful and notorious younger sister Paolina that doesn't break much new ground. Gina Lollobrigida, at the height of her fame (this was right around the time she made "Come September" and "Strange Bedfellows" with Rock Hudson) and beauty, does do a more than creditable job as Paolina, but not an especially memorable one compared to, for example, her _tour de force_ as Lina Cavalieri in "Beautiful But Dangerous" ... | I've read the other reviews and I don't get it. This is a very, very bad "B" movie, complete with bad acting, (watch for the Bo's 'agonized' scream when she is given the urn containing Johnny's ashes), bad editing, and more plot holes than you can shake a stick at. It is, therefore, hilarious. For those of you who love silly, bad "B" movies, rent it and have a good laugh. For Gods sake, don't waste your money buying it. |

| This picture takes you to a trip through the bitter side of adolescence. Delphine, 14 years old is the main character played wonderfully by Maud Forget. A very realistic teen drama. Don't miss it !!!

| Another French film told well. Nice to see some actors in roles you would not expect. Is a film that will make you feel good. |

| This early film of Gerard Philipe is hard to come by, therefor I ordered the English spoken copy. Copy and a bad one at that. Unlike dubbed films from Germany where they try to get actors with a similar voice as the real one, the English doesn't work for me. It should be mentioned that this is a copy, not an original, and the price ought to be accordingly. |

| This is not your typical silly little soft-core erotic cinema, this gets into a shockingly heavy "fake rape" subplot that is extremely unexpected. Not to mention the 16 year old girl's father telling her to lie about the rape so his family won't go through scandal. Yep your typical American popcorn flick. |
