| I'd have enjoyed this movie more if... well, if it had been better! I was expecting a serious movie and was dealt a Dickensian, Hollywood fairy-tale where actors are merely props for the movie's symbolism: Keri Russell is sublime and disciplined classical music and Jonathan Rhys Meyers is hip and emotional Rock and Roll. | I'll admit that it's tough for me to give anything five stars, because it's the near-equivalent of saying something is perfect. Well, "Michael Clayton" is a thoroughly enjoyable piece of cinema. The movie is well-cast, particulary with regard to Clooney, Wilkinson, Swinton and Pollack. It's even nice to see Danny Noonan from "Caddyshack" back in action.
If you're looking for some sort of high-action shoot-'em-up full of pursuits, stunts and explosions, please look elsewhere. |

| When I saw this movie for the first time in 1986 I wet my pants. I was 29 at the time and crude cheap laughs for me and my friends worked in movieland. All these years later I like to think my tastes have improved and varied. Well they have and I still find this movie one of the best/worst movies I've ever seen.
Some days just watching something for the sake of laughing till you drop is OK. This movie does it. I've been searching for it for years and have been patiently waiting for it on DVD...Thank you to the DVD gods. ... Read More: |
