| I had never heard of this movie but ran across it while looking for something to rent. I had high hopes for this movie based purely on Flex being in this movie. I have never seen him in anything not worth while. True to form this movie delivered for me. I enjoyed the story. The movie is full of great actors and actresses. | For me, the whole "Bitches Brew" period was a necessary step in where "jazz" had to go. The other "free" players had not caught up with the electric / electronic developments that the rock players were mastering (at least a few did; like Hendrix). Miles brought them together; blurring lines and violating the boundaries in service of a greater vision.

| Granted some reviewers have created a de facto plot line by arbitrarily deciding that some parts are reality, some dream & some symbolism, etc. but they ignore large parts that can't be fitted into their story line. It's important to note the film started out to be a TV series, its seems a reasonable assumption the movie was cobbled together out of scenes that were originally intended to be used in separate episodes with a different plot. | I watched about forty-five minutes of this piece of garbage and believe me that was enough. I just couldn't continue to put myself through the torture that was watching "Dark Town"! Not only does it have atrocious acting, poor lighting, hammy dialog, badly choreographed lesbian sex, horrendously stereotyped characters, a convoluted and illogical plot and cheap gore effects, it was also rather sick in certain places as well! | I bought this from Amazon.com and I don't understand all the positive reviews. I'm a Marcus Miller fan with several CDs proudly a part of my collection, and yet my advice to anyone considering this DVD is save your money - it's HORRIBLE!!!!! With video and audio that appear to be the product of someone's $199 VHS camcorder set for 8-hour economy mode, all I can say is that both audio and video are beyond horrible.
