| This production is 95% very, very close-up full face shots. There are no, zero, full stage shots. Very Occasionally there is a full body shot. There is absolutely no sense of theater at all.
This opera could have been filmed in an 8 x 12 foot room. No sense of space exists. DAS BOOT had more wide shots. | This film is an absolute classic. I've seen this film numerous times and I never get tired of it. Both Courtney Gains (Malichi) and John Franklin (Issac) are great actors who should have won awards for their performances. On top of the acting, my copy of this film is autographed by the music composer, who is also my science teacher's husband. So that fact alone make this film extra special to watch. |

| this disk is a summary of the series, no new footage really but it does include the "CHI-BITS" mini feature where sumomo and belle have an adventure trying to deliver an "important" article of clothing to Chi.
its quite humorous and is hard to watch with a straight face. its worth getting the dvd if solely for that feature. |

| I happened across this little gem recently for two bucks in a discount/discontinued merchandise store; and it's easy to see why it was to be found there. ( Even at that, I think I got ripped off! ) I earnestly believe this anime title to have NO redeeming features whatsoever. It's based on what we are told was a "classic" anime of the 1960's. | I gotta hand it to ya Takeshi. An amazing series with great graphics, storyline, plot and anything else you can think of. The ending of this series was awsome. I can't say anything so, but I will say I wish you made a aftermath episode or at least a game for the xbox or ps2. Anyway it was still a great series. | I found this movie to be medically accurate, with some really well done anatomical drawings. The concept is plausable, and the mystery and strangeness of "black Jack" is intreging. If you are looking for a action packed Anime, this will not due for you. However if you are looking for a psycological story this is a phenominal watch... it does not have a lot of re-watchablilty, but it is a must see once. That and a surgeon blessed with the hands of God just sounds cool. |
