I give this 5 stars not just for being a masterpiece of a story but also as a wonderful trip to Florence (and the english countryside). Julian Sands and Helena Bonham Carter fans will also be pleased.

Rose Red
'Rose Red' was a good story without all the spooks and goblins of Halloween.
The placement of the story, and it's surroundings, looked more realistic and less ridiculess (unbelieveable) than most spook movies. I enjoyed it.

I just want to say this right off the bat; I honestly think that 1995 has seriously got to be one of the greatest years of film in recent history. There are just so many cinematic gems to be found within that particular year, and `Leaving Las Vegas' is truly one of them. I will admit that I was skeptical at first. I am not a fan of Nicholas Cage, not in the least. He is a very mannered, `actorly' type of an actor; you know the type that always appears to be acting. I prefer my actors to sink into the rawness ... Read More:

theres no shadow of doubt that this is a classic that presents the khmer rouge issue in cambodia and an extraordinary history that everyone got to see.

I somehow missed this one until now. What a gem! With such great acting, outrageously funny plot and exquisite music, no matter that it's only remotely historical. And with all its silliness, it also has some interesting character revelations. I've been collecting movies about classical composers, and this is now one of my favorites.

7.Arachnophobia starring: Jeff Daniels, Harley Jane Kozak, John Goodman, Julian Sands, Stuart Pankin

This is a perfect starter for Halloween, just enough scares and fun to get you in the mood. 'Arachnophobia' would have been an even better film if it was scarier and funnier. It all seems pretty "middle of the road" to me. It's an enjoyable film unless you can't handle watching spiders, but it seems a bit uneven in tone. The DVD transfer is OK, but could be improved also. All in all, it's a good family horror movie, nothing too intense, but a lot of fun.

This was a nice enough continuation of the series but seems to lack some of the polish one would equate with a film. Granted there is more time designated for plot evolution and a bigger budget for effects but it lacked the 'wow' factor.

That said, I enjoyed the plot, the effects, the fact there weren't commercials and that Jack O'Neill was back with the group (you can't ever have enough pithy humor or cake!). It was well worth the cost of admission for a dedicated SG1 fan.

10.Naked Lunch - Criterion Collection starring: Peter Weller, Judy Davis, Ian Holm, Julian Sands, Roy Scheider

Conspiring monster bugs. . .ejaculating typewriters. . .inter-zone intrigue. . .
As a statement on addiction--interesting.
As a statement on writing--interesting.
As entertainment--duh?
Well-acted, well-made, but just, at times, so flat-out weird that it makes it, well--not enjoyable.
